About

To be honest, my preference is to remain somewhat anonymous and let the galleries and blog commentary speak for themselves. But people ask, so I have to do what can. Thus, the obligatory Web bio. This is where I try to take all the complex aspects of my existence and cram them into a couple manageable paragraphs in 10 point Arial Font. Not quite as cut-and-dried as an obituary and hopefully not as final. So here goes. I’m younger than the pope (who isn’t?) but older than both of my cats combined. I’m trying to be a good vegetarian, but there are only so many ways to dress up tofu like a cheeseburger. I love my trail bike more than most of my family (no, this isn’t true, but I do love my trail bike a lot). I believe Ann Coulter is the spirit of General Jack D. Ripper reincarnated in a slinky black cocktail dress (yes, a mad transgendered spirit). Thunderstorms and warm, wet sand between my toes make me giddy. I want Tibet to be free, George W. Bush to convert to Buddhism, and Scientology to appoint Tom Cruise as its ambassador to Venus (with John Travolta as the first alternate). I prefer to eat at dives and sleep in unusual positions. People can use Klondike bars to control me. I would only believe in God if he was Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, or Tim Burton. And I would only believe in heaven if Radiohead was the house band. What else? Well you’ll just have to ask.
Now a little bit about my numero uno pastime . . .
From the time I bought my first digital camera, a fragile little Kodak with barely enough resolution to produce a decent 3 x 5 print, I’ve been fascinated by the possibilities of the digital medium. Being strictly an amateur, I’m not half as serious about the “art” as I should be, but that’s not really what motivates me anyway. My goal is to memoralize - in digital images - the places I visit and the people I meet, and leave behind a photographic legacy. Although this motivation is personal, I hope the images on this site will illuminate certain aspects of the world for you as well.
